Court loss for women...repeat of history??

The torch carrier(from Calgary but picture is taken in Victoria) is one of the girl's that CAN NOT compete in our 2010 Olympics..they just lost their court case yesterday...grrrrrr....the boy in red, is her brother ...HE is competing...he said his sister is better than he is!! that is their Dad. They all are from Calgary.
WHEN did women get their right to vote in Canada? yesterday? seems like this court loss takes us back many many years....

Making Mud

I spent Tuesday to late Wednesday evening with my daughter and 3 grandkids...what a fun visit it was...but oh so very busy all the time. I taught Jackson how to 'make mud'....I am a very good Grammer in his books....he was so excited when I added water to the dirt...more water to make it a lake...then put his little cars into the muck and used the little tow truck toy to pull them out....over and over and over again...."no go home"....as he knew that meant he had to have his afternoon sleep!! PRECIOUS MOMENTS for sure.

an unfinished back of a sweater made THREE hats.

This piece plus 2 1/2 sleeves made FIVE hats...

cut off about 5 1/2 inches (leaving cuff on if possible)
then pick up the stitches and crown off the hat...
such a good feeling to see all this perfect knitting used
to make such great hats.

Cute jokes

Sometimes you hear a joke you just have to share..... here are 3 that made me laugh! Enjoy.

My young grandson called the other day to wish me Happy Birthday.
He asked me how old I was, and I told him, 65.
My grandson was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, "Did you start at 1?"
***********************************************************************************
When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied, "I'm not sure."
"Look in your underwear, Grandma," he advised, "mine says I'm 4to 6."
***********************************************************************************
A second grader came home from school and said to her grandmother,"Grandma, guess what? We learned how to make babies today."
The grandmother, more than a little surprised, tried to keep her cool. "That's interesting," she said, "How do you make babies?"
"It's simple," replied the girl. "You just change 'y' to 'i' and add 'es'."
************************************************************************************
I KNOW you smiled reading them!

fist! Trying all sorts of new things lately..never a dull moment.

First Oil Painting

When we lived in small towns in Saskatchewan we had access to courses through
Parkland Community College. While stationed in Ituna, I took an oil painting class with Betty Robertson from Balcarres, Sask. My first painting was of Maligne Lake...
Years later, Janis' friend was vacationing in the Rockies and came across this postcard
and brought it back for me "I think this is a picture of your painting"...and it was...

I'm sure alot of you received the video thru email on "Our Canada" around July lst...the first picture on the video was this scene...
